Peter Pan
Peter Pan was a new musical adaption of the magical novel by J.M. Barrie performed at the main stage of Oslo Nye Teater in 2024.
The text was by Fredrik Longva, and the music by Nils Bech. The role of Peter was performed by Fredrik Høstaker and the role of The Storyteller was performed by Vegard Bjørsmo.
Left alone with his thoughts and longings in the night, the young boy - our Storyteller - gets a surprise visit by Peter Pan who has lost his shadow in the boy’s bedroom.
Peter teaches the boy how to fly, and soon they are off to Neverland, where the boy meets The Lost Boys, and beautiful mermaids in a mysterious lagoon, but also the vengeful Hook and his dangerous men. In the midst of it all romantic feelings blossom between the two boys - could it be love?
In this new musical theater performance “Peter Pan” we experience a story about a deep yearning for love, affiliation and the freedom to be who we are in this world.
For et ungt, skeivt menneske som på en eller annen måte sitter ensom i teatersetet sitt, må den kjennes som en uendelig varm klem.

Fortelleren
Lukk øynene. Se for deg en gate i en by. I gaten ser du to gutter som ganske nylig har møtt hverandre. Det er også andre mennesker der, så de kan ikke fly. Bare litt. Av og til letter de fra bakken uten at noen ser det. Den ene gutten er litt redd, så den andre gutten tar hånden hans, og så... svever de sammen, hånd i hånd. Inne i de to guttene er det som om ville fugler slår med vingene, det er så mye frykt der inne som de vil riste av seg, for frykten gjør det så vanskelig for hjertene sombare vil fly! Som bare vil fly. Men av og til må de også være redde. For det kan være farlig for de to guttene og gå sånn hånd i hånd nedover gaten... Livsfarlig å gå nedover gaten, hånd i hånd, med en man liker... Hvorfor er det sånn, egentlig? De to guttene velger å sveve sammen allikevel. Uansett hva.”
